The Zoological Garden in Münster was opened in 1875 and converted into an all-weather zoo about 100 years later. On 365 days a year, the approximately 5 km long paths, of which about 1 km is covered, allow a visit to the zoo in any weather. In addition to the great variety of species and animal discoveries, there are - especially for the little ones - plenty of entertainment options.

Burg Hülshoff - Hülshoff castle

The moated castle Hülshoff is located in the middle of a green park landscape in Havixbeck in the west of Münster. The birthplace of the poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff was already mentioned in documents in the 11th century and is considered a typical Münsterland moated castle made of Baumberg sandstone.
In the meantime, apart from the grounds and the exterior of the building, it is also possible to visit the castle's premises. The gastronomy in the castle cellar and in summer also in the courtyard, complete the exploration experience.

Steinfurt's Bagno

The Steinfurt Bagno borders directly on the famous Steinfurt moated castle. It forms a park complex that extends over 50 hectares. In addition to exceptional garden architecture, one can also gain cultural experience here. Various concerts are regularly held in Europe's oldest free-standing concert hall in Steinfurt's Bagno. In addition, many cycling routes of the region cross in the park, which is why you can ideally integrate this excursion destination into your cycling tour.

Vischering castle

Castle Vischering is one of the oldest and best-preserved castle complexes in the Münsterland region and is located on the northern edge of Lüdinghausen. Around the listed castle runs a complex system of ramparts, ponds and moats, which draw their water from the Stever. From this extends a fantastic area to enjoy nature on leisurely walks. Today, the castle complex serves as a cultural center for the district of Coesfeld and is used for concerts and lectures.

Nordkirchen castle

Nordkirchen Castle is an impressive example of a completely preserved, overall symmetrical Baroque complex. The moated castle is situated on an island in the middle of a quadrangular moat, which forms the heart of the extensive park landscape. Numerous walking paths connect to it and end at the castle. The inner courtyard is freely accessible at all times.
